Hello all, we are please to announce the films we will be screening in St. Thomas. THe films are listed below.

Six Weeks of Solidarity:
1995. 9:21 minutes. Director, Victor Dobchuk. English.
A look at the 1919 Winnipeg General Strike, 75 years later. We also see the deliberate attempt to “pave over” the history of labour. Not the first moment in labour activism in Canada, but, perhaps, the defining moment!

Second Chance – Union made
2008. 55 minutes. Director: Kelly Candaele. USA. English.
Follow the lives and work of six ex-gang/prison members who turn their lives around by entering the Pipefitters, Ironworkers and Electric Workers Unions.  Inspirational.

Just anothercog in the machine
2009. 2:45 minutes. Director: John Wood. UK. English.
Using wordplay & a photocopier to promote starting a union.

Welcome to Saint Thomas, Ontario. We are participating in the Canadian Labour International Film Festival in its inaugural year. Screening of films about workers, work and issues affecting both will be at finalised soon. Please stay tuned.
